Just a few moments ago my computer came under attack! I got suckered into clicking on a false headline showing Mitt Romney had a commanding lead in the polls. The page looked like it was authentic, complete with CNN credentials.

Of course, once you click it's too late, unless you have a Firewall! We do have a firewall in place, which intercepted the malicous attack and kept my computer from harm - thankfully! What if I had not had a Firewall? It would have been bad, very bad...

I am reminded of the Old Testament prophet Zechariah, who was given a vision of the Lord protecting his people, "'Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of men and livestock in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,' says the Lord, 'and I will be its glory within'."

I love that analogy; no man-made walls to protect God's people. Why would they be needed when God surrounds them with his love and protection? When we get to Heaven we will live with God in perfect security. Until then we need locks, alarms, cameras, and firewalls, among other things.

Access to the Father's eternal Protection Plan is through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. We put our hope and trust in Him, and he encompasses us with the love of the Father. I like security on computers; I like even more eternal security! Ask God to put his "wall of fire" security against malicious threats of Satan, Sin and Death in place in your life!
